Privacy Policy

We collect the information you provide during the storybook flow, including interview messages, story details, reader age band, book format, selected art style, character names, relationships, pronouns, appearance details, meaningful objects, and details you ask us to avoid.

If you use voice input, we process the audio to create a transcript. When storage is enabled, the audio file may be stored with your session so the interview can be transcribed and supported.

During setup, we collect contact information such as first name, last name, email address, optional phone number, and your email or SMS notification choices. If you reserve a spot, we store reservation records such as amount, currency, reserved book price, expected full price, reservation status, Stripe Checkout Session ID, Stripe Payment Intent ID, and refund status. We do not store your full card number.

We also collect technical and analytics information, including a session ID cookie, landing-page variant, page and funnel events, generation job status, timestamps, error details, and basic browser event properties.

We use your information to run the story interview, save your progress, generate story structure and book images, show your custom book, send preview or reservation emails when you opt in, process refundable reservations, issue or track refunds, troubleshoot the product, prevent abuse, and understand whether families want this product.

We use collected information to improve the book creation flow, support reservations, and provide purchase and fulfillment details as you continue through checkout.

Your interview, setup, character, and style details may be sent to AI and media providers to generate story text, prompts, illustrations, and transcripts. Generated content can contain mistakes, and you should review names, relationships, appearance details, and story facts before relying on the book.

Please do not submit sensitive medical, financial, legal, government ID, password, or account information. Character fields can include optional visible traits and representation details; only provide information you are comfortable using for the book.

We use service providers to operate the site, including Supabase for database storage, AWS S3-compatible storage for generated media and optional audio files, OpenRouter and OpenAI for AI text and transcription features, kie.ai for image generation, Stripe for checkout and payment processing, Resend for email delivery, PostHog for product analytics when configured, and Railway for hosting.

These providers process information for us so the site can work. Stripe handles payment card details through Stripe Checkout under Stripe's own payment infrastructure.

We use a session cookie to connect your browser to your story session. We also record product events such as landing views, interview progress, setup completion, book viewing, sold-out page viewing, purchase starts, purchase completions, and notification status. These events help us understand and improve the funnel.

This site is intended for adults, including parents, guardians, and grandparents. It is not intended for children to use directly. If you provide information about a child or another family member, you are responsible for having the right and consent to share it for the storybook.

We keep session, story, setup, generated book, contact, analytics, and reservation records as long as needed to provide the book, manage the reservation, evaluate the product, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You may ask us to delete your story or contact information. Some payment, security, backup, and legal records may need to be retained for a reasonable period.

You can choose not to provide optional character details or phone number. You can opt out of book-ready emails by leaving email notifications unchecked. If you opted into SMS updates, reply STOP to opt out. You can request access, correction, deletion, or a reservation refund by contacting us through the email address used for your book or reservation messages. The current production sender is storybooks@tinyfamilytales.com.

We may update this policy as the product changes. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
